Aileen Reid
Hello Aileen Reid here. The conscious dance that I am trained and qualified to hold is Open Floor Movement Practice.
What drew me to Open Floor was that as an organisation Open Floor International is grounded in dynamic governance. The learning, development and decision making happens in group circles. I love co-creation and the wisdom, energy and even magic of folks gathered together, so an organisation developed and lead by groups and circles was the context I wanted to locate my work and my working live within.
As for the practice of Open Floor.... well it's a time and space for enjoying being in movement, being in music, being in community and of course being simply with yourself and your own experience of the moment. I see folks arrive looking kind of heavy with the week, maybe tired, maybe tight in the body or energy..... by the end of the session they are somehow opened up, expanded, eyes bright, connected to themselves, to the place and to one another.
The dance, bringing the body into movement and into an environment of wide wonderful music does something miraculous. There is a shifting of mood, of mind, of emotional state and of perspective. Along with these things movement is, of course, great for the body, for emotional wellbeing, your mental wellbeing, even your soul wellbeing. You probably know this already though, as here you are looking at a website called Dancing Tribe Scotland. See you on the dance floor. Ax
