New Year Ceremony
Loving the Life you Live; Living the Life you Love
The turning of the year is a wonderful opportunity. It is a time to reflect, honour and celebrate the year that has gone. And it is a moment to renew our love for ourselves and for Life. And what better time to shed the skins of old unhelpful patterns, and step refreshed into the future? In this two day workshop we will have time to dance, and talk and share. And there will be a deep ceremony in which to surrender to something MUCH bigger than ourselves, and receive support from the mystery that lies at the heart of everything. We will dance and workshop all through the day of Hogmanay. And then after nightfall, we will open a ceremonial space, in which to dance and daydream and write and meditate. We will dance till beyond midnight... welcoming 2020. And then (still deep in ceremony) we will sleep and nightdream. And in the morning, we will capture the wisdom and wildness of all our dreams and longings, and fully embrace and the potential and delight of the brand new year. Timing: workshop will begin on Hogmanay at 10.30 am and will end on New Year’s Day at 4.30pm Venue: Church Hall, The Church of the Good Shepherd, 15 Murrayfield Ave, Edinburgh EH12 6AU Cost: The workshop will be £100 (£30 deposit to secure your place) £80 if paid in full by December 8th catherine.wright@phonecoop.coop tel 07866 382294 THIS IS AN ADVANCED WORKSHOP with the invitation to journey deep If you have not danced in ceremony with me before, it is important that we have a conversation to see if this is the right workshop for you For More information about Movement Medicine, visit www.schoolofmovementmedicine.com For more information about Catherine, visit www.catherinewright.co.uk Image by kind permission of Robin Quinlivan. “Dance first! Think later!!” That might seem like very odd advice. Movement Medicine teaches us that it is the best advice you could get. Quite simply the bigger our feelings are, the stronger our dancer needs to be. The ‘strength’ of the Dancer lies in becoming more and more aware of what is going on for us, and more and more able to move the body to get some support for the intensity of our experience.
“Set the body in motion and the psyche will heal itself” Gabrielle Roth.
We will use the tools of Movement Medicine and the rhythm of the Celtic Medicine Wheel to take the dance a little deeper; and to allow the wisdom and joy you experience on the dancefloor to have a deeper impact on the rest of your life.
The whole journey consists of four workshops, which will be held in the beautiful Steiner School:
Imbolc: 1/2 February
Beltaine: 2/3 May
Lughnasadh: 1/2 August
Samhain: 31st Oct/1 November
The cost of the whole journey is £400
Alternatively you may choose to pay in nine monthly instalments of £45
Early Bird Price for the whole journey is £350 if paid in full by January 7th 2020
There is also an invitation to complete a project of your own choosing. The project will enable you to feel specific benefits from this deeper dive into Movement Medicine.
You may also choose to have one to one sessions during the course of the group.
