Open Floor Workshops

Our Daring Dances
with Arjan Bouw & Deborah Jay-Lewin
30 April / 3 May 2020 - Barcelona, Spain
We invite you to move into and beyond what is known and unknown to you; strong and soft, fierce and friendly, courageous and vulnerable, free and accountable.
To be true to yourself and connect authentically with other people.
To hold a paradox in your whole being.
To dare to be uniquely, honestly you.
Over these few days we intend to meet the wildness and the wilderness within and between us with kind attention, appreciative acceptance and a generous allowing of what wants to show up. You will be held, with affectionate joyful, fierce care on the Open Floor!

Embracing Change
with Deborah Jay-Lewin
assisted by Bettina Jespersen
15 - 22 August 2020 - Findhorn
Change can be so unsettling, even though it is the only predictable thing there is. Some changes we resist, others we welcome. In the current planetary climate, we are called to dance deeper into our own creative selves; to be honest about our vulnerability so we can access our equilibrium and strength.
Do you contract with the effort to control change? When the going gets tough, do you find ways to avoid or escape? What enables you to soften, keep focused, release and let go, expand and connect with effortless synchronicity? Are you open to the possibility of greater equanimity, whatever the external circumstances might be?
This week we will use Open Floor Movement Practice to bring this inquiry to the dance floor as we literally embody the physicality of change. Open Floor anchors us in our bodies and engages us in lively, enlightening movement conversations with ourselves and each other.
Pre-requisite: At least one class of an Embodied Movement Practice (eg Open Floor, 5Rhythms® or Movement Medicine). Findhorn Foundation Experience Week not required.
This workshop counts as 30 hours for the Open Floor Teacher Training
Cost:
Workshop costs includes all programme content, 7 nights accommodation, full board and refreshments.

The Movement Project 2021
Living closer to the dreaming
with Sarena
Saturday afternoons 3 pm -6 pm
Two blocks:
Block 1: 20 March - 24 April - 22 May
Block 2: 4 Sept - 2 Oct - 6 Nov
What it is about
We will work in movement and spoken word creating the poetry that comes through our bodies.
At times we notice a particular way we are or behave that no longer serves us well enough. I want more, I want different. Life feels stale and unappealing or I am tired of the same conflicts, those little - big fights that no longer feel right. But, how do I change this? How do I gain a new perspective of an old situation and can I trust my body to provide this wisdom?
During our time together we will dance together, feeling into our current physical state, our mental mood and we will gather together to hold space, witness and have an opportunity to explore something bothersome, or something that feels like a new possibility. To witness we feel into those same places in ourselves and being witnessed we step into a new layer of trust in our bodies.
We work in movement trusting what the body is already doing, our particular movement sequence and explore with words and movement what the next step is or how we can hold (get to know) a new sequence in our body.
I love this way of working as it provides safety in a small group, connecting in ways we don't normally do in everyday life. It opens up to how else we can be in communion with the world and those close to us.
Cost: £50 per session or or pay upfront for one block £120. Or book for both blocks £240.
The group will be between 4 -6 people.
Who is it forThose who are interested in discovering more about their own life journey, and wanting to explore it more fully in movement and being a witness. Movement is a physical and emotional language and we listen and respond to our bodies in the moment with presence. Witnessing and being witnessed support us to grow with integrity. In the one to one we work with what emerges, this could be a challenging issue or bringing awareness to what is ready to be received, or you might explore and deepen something that arises in the moment through the dance. This is a combination of dance and Process Work (underpinned by Open Floor Therapy in Motion), we create change in ourselves and therefore support change in the world around us.
